Whenever possible, Bellingham Charts Printers recommends complete chart portfolios versus single charts for the following reasons: up to 29% less expensive than buying sea charts singly, offers cheap insurance if your plans change, you need to seek refuge in the event of a storm, medical emergencies, or emergency repairs. Portfolios offer all the sea maps available in a given area. Can you imagine what it's like to make a landfall in the black of night, in a howling gale, without a chart! Don't let yourself, crew, or vessel down-be certain to have adequate marine chart coverage.

Many Ocean Voyagers prefer these 2/3 size (24" x 36") nautical chart portfolios, for they are bound with opening fasteners, are uniformly sized, fit your chart table, and are less expensive than full size reproductions. All portfolios have a cover sheet which contains the list of sea charts and titles in the folio. In addition, the schematics from the government chart catalogs are displayed on the folio cover. All navigational charts are in numerical order within the folio.

BCP chart reproductions have served as primary charts for ocean voyagers for decades. If you use or plan to use Electronic Charts (digital nautical charts) like Passport Charts (Nobeltec) or C-map charts the need for inexpensive BCP back-up paper charts never goes away.
