FEATURES:
- Oil level sight glass/drain plug for inspection and convenient gearbox oil change

- Permits use of traditional shackle and thimble rope and chain connection

- Marine grade alloy gearbox housing, finished with a two coat paint system

- Chain wheel locking pawl(Excluding 500 and 800)

- High quality finish on above deck components

- Heavy chrome over marine-grade alloy bronze

- Gearbox has a high efficiency output drive with heavy-duty, wide-face, precision, bronze spur gears in a sealed oil bath

Important: Maxwell windlasses must be used in conjunction with a chain stopper or snubbing device to take the load off the windlass while laying at anchor. The chain stopper and alternative snubbing system can also be used to secure the anchor in the fully raised position while under way.
